Life Standards

The human being is used to standards, in our work we have a series of procedures to follow that end up establishing a certain standard. When we wake up in the morning, we follow a kind of ritual, a pattern that we end up repeating daily.

When a child is born, one of the most important things is to establish a routine so that he grows up in a healthy way. Our measurements are a kind of standard, the streets, our houses, everything around us has a standard that is how God made the things of this world.

"And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." GN 1:2

God began to create everything in order. But the human being chose his own path, losing full communion with God, seeking his own pattern.

Therefore, we need to return to the pattern that God has set for us. For that:

1) Look for God's pattern for your life.

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." RM 12:2

Because we have the ability to absorb certain patterns, we need to approach the patterns set by God for us, because there is a pattern in this world that is not good and was not made for us.

We need to seek a transformation in the way we see this world. God's standard for us is good, perfect, and pleasing

2) Change your way of thinking.

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." PHP 4:8

Every attitude is rooted in a thought, what occupies your mind determines your attitude. Changing the way of thinking requires maturity, it requires a better way of facing and seeing life.

When we think the way God thinks, we get rid of secularized and destructive thoughts. These destructive thoughts cause many problems to our mental and physical health.

3) Have good relationships

"Mas agora estou escrevendo que não devem associar-se com qualquer que, dizendo-se irmão, seja imoral, avarento, idólatra, caluniador, alcoólatra ou ladrão. Com tais pessoas vocês nem devem comer." 1 CO 5:11

"Do not associate" means "do not mix, relate, be intimate". It doesn't mean that we can't help people, but that you should set boundaries and not create alliances and relationships with people like that. As much as they come to profess the same faith, they can be toxic and are walking a path that will certainly generate problems, being hostages to addictions and habits that cause death, disease and human degradation.

Conclusion

Patterns define us as human beings, we have patterns in everything we are, interact and do. Choosing the best "patterns" for our life is our task. God created a series of good standards for our life we need to always look for God's standard for our life by changing the way we think and being selective with what we eat, drink, with our habits and also with whom we relate. Look for a healthy pattern for your life.
